Rooted in science | powered by mindfulness and sound.
Move with intention. Breathe with awareness. Feel powerful from the inside out.
At LITHE Movement, we integrate Pilates, functional strength, and somatic awareness to help you move with purpose and confidence.
Our approach reconnects you to your body’s natural rhythm - building strength, stability, and resilience from the inside out.
Available in person in Scotland and online worldwide.
Our Philosophy
Movement is more than exercise - it’s a conversation between your body, mind, and nervous system.
We guide you to move consciously, build functional strength, and restore balance through a blend of conventional training and somatic practice.
Whether you’re rebuilding after burnout, navigating hormonal imbalances, or seeking a deeper connection to your body, LITHE helps you return home to yourself.
Who This Is For
LITHE Movement is designed for those who want to move beyond the quick fix and train with intention.
You’ll love this approach if you:
Feel disconnected from your body and want to rebuild trust in how you move.
Are navigating hormone or metabolic changes (e.g. PCOS, thyroid, postnatal recovery, stress dysregulation).
Want to build lean muscle, feel strong, and support long-term energy and vitality.
Prefer a personalised, mindful approach to training - one that integrates body, breath, and awareness.
Value education, embodiment, and self-understanding as part of your wellness journey.
Presence Practice→ Nervous system regulation & cortisol balance
Learn to move from awareness rather than autopilot.
We use breath, sensory feedback, and mindfulness to help you feel before you perform - creating clarity, coordination, and calm.
Slow, mindful movement, somatic practices, meditation, and sound baths all activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
This helps lower chronically elevated cortisol, improve insulin sensitivity, and rebalance the HPA axis.
Deep diaphragmatic breathing and vagal toning improve HRV (heart rate variability), which is linked to healthier stress hormone profiles.
⸻
Fortitude Practice→ Strengthen your metabolism
Build functional strength with intelligent programming that honours your body’s physiology. Through resistance training and dynamic movement, you’ll develop muscular endurance, bone density, and metabolic balance.
Short, breath-centric cardio stimulate growth hormone (GH) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which support cellular repair, metabolism, and mood.
Properly timed, moderate bursts of intensity help keep cortisol spikes brief and adaptive, rather than chronically elevated.
Improves insulin sensitivity and glucose handling, reducing the risk of insulin resistance and PCOS-related hormonal imbalances.
⸻
Resilience Practice → Strength training & hormonal balance
Sustain your energy, regulate your nervous system, and recover well.
Resilience is built through balance - strength paired with softness, drive tempered by rest.
Resistance training is one of the most powerful levers for hormone health:
Supports testosterone & DHEA production
Promotes oestrogen balance, supporting bone density & mood.
Enhances insulin sensitivity, reducing risk of metabolic syndrome.
Strength work also stimulates myokines from muscles - signalling molecules that positively affect inflammation and endocrine balance.
⸻
By fostering a deeper awareness of how your body moves and feels, you will improve:
Muscular strength and endurance
Support metabolic flexibility / health
Self - connection and awareness
Foster mental clarity and focus
Stress response regulation

Working with Kirsten for the past few years has been a true pleasure and a transformative experience. From our very first session, I was drawn to her incredibly calm energy and a focused, intuitive approach that immediately put me at ease.
Kirsten is an exceptionally knowledgeable and professional coach. She has a remarkable ability to tune into each person she works with, whether it's in a private session or a group class. She's not just teaching movements; she's looking at the entire body and how it functions as a whole. Her holistic approach, combined with her own personal health journey, gives her a wealth of knowledge to share.

I cannot recommend Kirsten highly enough, especially for anyone recovering from a challenging injury. After my knee injury, I was nervous about regaining full strength and mobility, and standard physical therapy felt limited. When we started training, I immediately saw her passion for what she does and how good she is at it.
Kirsten immediately impressed me with her holistic and thoughtful approach. She didn't just focus on the injury itself but created a comprehensive training plan that included a crucial mix of exercises, including Pilates, specialised strength training, and mobility work. This variety kept me engaged and ensured every part of my recovery was addressed safely and effectively.
Thanks to her expertise and unwavering support, I not only recovered but came back stronger than I was before the injury. I am now back to all my normal activities without pain or hesitation. If you need a knowledgeable, patient, and truly exceptional trainer to guide you through recovery, Kirsten is the absolute best choice.

Kirsten is the most wonderful, calm, encouraging and nurturing trainer. Her deep knowledge and expertise in understanding how the body works and how to create a bespoke smooth flowing routine based on her client’s needs. Her holistic approach can focus on building strength and muscle to ensuring alignment through stretching - or both. It is rare to have someone so attuned to her client’s requirements and happy to create something new each time.
